Facilities for Apprenticeship Training in Specified Industries:

The trainees from Industrial Training Institutes after completion of their trade courses under NCVT may be engaged by employers for apprenticeship training in the trades designated under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Such trainees are given full credit of the period spent in Industrial Training Institutes and they are required to undergo apprenticeship training in specified industries only for the remaining period of apprenticeship in the corresponding trades, provided they possess basic qualification prescribed under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 for the designated trade.
The trainees enrolled for the trade courses covered under the SCVT can also be engaged for apprenticeship training subject to the conditions stipulated under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and rules thereunder.

At the end of the prescribed course of apprenticeship training the apprentices are given the All India Trade Test of Apprentices conducted by the Government of India, New Delhi under the aegis of National Council for Vocational Training and the candidates passing this examination are awarded National Apprenticeship Certificate which is considered to be higher than the National Trade Certificate awarded at the end of the training courses in the ITIs.
